1950s naval war sperg repository

Postby North Point » Fri Dec 09, 2016 3:52 pm

There should be a large naval war in the early 1950s with awful early missiles, late-WW2 era all-gun cruisers and sufficiently terrible prop planes being launched from Essex CVs and whatnot.

Ideas pitched around included Boatnet invading Paralentum and starting a giant war with Doom that ends when Fanta threatens involvement (or something) and also a CL vs. Normie war in the south tyre sea (presumably Burghers shooting boat poors or something).

Let's discuss, please. I want to sperg.

My meaningless excel sperg document for the NPnavy has NP with 3 sperglaskas, one of which gets sunk by a torpedo hit in the early 1950s and so that needs to happen as well.

This can also be the war that sees Fanta's modernized German WW1 battleships get sunk in a Pearl Harbor-style sneak attack by Varnian submarines at their base in the Gravic Sea.

The distribution of IRL ships to SMS nations during the period should be as follows:

1. French Dunkerque / Richelieu / whatever BBs = Quiberon
2. USN WW1 BBs and fast battleships = split evenly between Doom / CL
3. German WW1 BBs modernized (along the lines of USN BBs) = Fanta
4. Jap shit = who cares it's gay but probably Tyre / Songia / Hanseom / Mat (some)
5. RN carriers/battleships/cruisers/DDs/etc = exclusively Prae/Mat/some NP
6. Sperglaska = NP (obviously)
7. USN wartime cruisers (Cleveland, Baltimore, Fargo, etc) = Doom
8. Early USN carriers = Doom
9. Late USN carriers (Essex, Midway) = CL (to allow for transition to Forrestals later in the 1950s-1960s)
